The first cold snap sends half the GTA looking for a tire changeover in the same two weeks. Shops fill their calendars, walk-in lines wrap around the building, and the drivers who waited end up on summer tires during the first snowfall. iFAST Roadside Assistance takes the shop out of it. We bring the equipment to your driveway, your condo parking spot or your office lot anywhere across Scarborough, North York, Toronto, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa and the wider GTA, and we swap your tires while you get on with your day.

A mobile tire swap is the same job a shop does, done where your car already is. We lift the vehicle safely, change the wheels, torque every lug nut to your manufacturer's specification, set the pressures for the cold, and check the tread and sidewalls on the set going on. The set coming off goes back in your trunk, garage or storage space. No drive, no drop-off, no second trip to pick it up.

The first thing we'll ask when you call is whether your winter tires are on their own rims. It decides what the job involves:

On-rim tire swap (winters on their own wheels)

This is the quickest option. Your winter tires are already mounted on a second set of rims, so we simply take one set of wheels off and put the other on, then torque, set pressures and inspect. It's also the gentlest on your tires, because nothing is pried on or off a rim twice a year.

Off-rim changeover (one set of rims for both)

If you only own one set of rims, each tire has to be dismounted and the other tire mounted on the same wheel, then balanced. We do the mounting and balancing on-site, the same as a shop, and fit the finished wheels back on your car. Takes longer than an on-rim swap, but still no shop visit. The common rule in Ontario is to put winter tires on once daytime temperatures stay at or below 7°C. Below that, the rubber in all-season and summer tires stiffens and loses grip, while winter compounds stay soft. In the GTA that's usually from late October into November. It's also exactly when every shop is booked solid, which is why booking a mobile changeover a little early is the easy win.
